Pioneer St. and Krestovsky Island

Pioneer Street

Once me and Dasha found this street in Saint Petersburg. It was quite different from the place we live, so I came back there on May, 1, 2006 and took some pictures.

The street starts with monument featuring Lenin's (half) face. Lots of the building at the street has symbol of pioneer organization — burning star. There are some plants at the street, and, like everything there, they look poor and are in bad condition.

I used Fuji Velvia 50 color slide film and Ilford PANF 50 black and white.

Krestovsky Island

Pioneer street finishes with a bridge, leading to Krestovsky island. It right at the Gulf of Finland. So I walked to the gulf shore and took some pictures of some things on the shore. The shore is covered with stones, bricks and lots of stuff, brought by the gulf. I really enjoyed spending time there.
