City Panorama From St. Isaac's

Winter 2006

One day in Winter 2006 I decided to go to St. Isaac's cathedral gallery to take some pictures of our city. St. Isaac's cathedral is one of the largest cathedrals in the world, standing in very center of St. Petersburg. Believe or not, but it was my first visit of the gallery, though I live in St. Petersburg all my life. Shame on me. But, anyway, what's done is done. Enjoy the pictures below.

At that day everything was covered with hoar-frost, because we had rather cold weather before (about -20C/-4F). But that day it became warmer (-7C/19F) and thick hoar-frost covered all deeply frozen surfaces.

I used high-sensitive black and white film (Ilford HP5 Plus, ISO400), so the pictures are grainy. I think it amplifies the overall impression of cold Winter.
